TERMITE Work Order – Please take your time to read and correctly fill out this PEST work order.

Very Important:

All information requested with the RED *asterisk, is required to be properly filled out.

Failure to do so will stop this work order from being sent.

1. Remain calm; the situation will be handled soon.
2. Termites do not bite you!
3. Do not remove the pellets   <————— Very Important!
Pellets being left in place is very important. You will find termite wings near any light source (Windows, Televisions, Computer Monitors, Lamps, etc).

The termites will fly from the wood they infest towards any light source, where they shed their wings.

IMPORTANT: Observing wings in a window sill does not mean that the termites are in the window sill, ONLY that the termites flew to the window sill and shed their wings.

PLEASE leave the drywood termite pellets and wings where they are, their presence will help us in locating the source of the termites.
If no drywood termite pellets are observed, it will be difficult to perform a successful service, but not impossible.

5. If you cannot be present for the termite service, provide us your permission to enter your unit (permission for entry is located on your termite work order) and we will get a key to your unit for entry. We will not enter without your permission.

7. There is NO charge for drywood termite treatments.

Choose which type of residence
The building number is on the exterior of every building, usually at the corner. Example: 16
This number is located above the main entryway into your building. Example: 2583 Salmon Dr
This is the alphabetic letter that designates your unit. Example: B – If a townhome just add a 0 (zero)
Is this unit VACANT?
Is there are PET in the unit?
This question is for the safety of your pet. Pets can get very stressed at times when a stranger enters the home without it’s owner present, the pest equipment may also cause more stress. In the past, some pets have escaped as the door was opened. We want your loved one safe!
Evidence of Termites
1. Termite Swarmer Wings: Drywood termites swarm as a means to produce a new termite colony in another location, thus expanding the termite population. 2. Termite Pellets: Drywood termite pellets are tiny, oval-shaped capsules with six concave sides and rounded ends. These pellets, which are about 1 millimeter in length, can form small mounds beneath kick out holes. The mounds may look like small piles of salt or pepper. Drywood termites Swarm: When termites swarm indoors, they will come out of walls or wooden construction (baseboards, door frames, posts, etc.) through small holes. These are called “exit holes” and were created by worker termites. A termite swarm will last about 30-40 minutes and the swarming termites will fly toward a light source, typically collecting around windows and sliding glass doors. The wings indicate that you have a drywood termite issue, but they do not tell you where the issue originaed as they are searching for a light source. For example, if there are termite swarmer wings laying around the floor by the slinding glass door, the termites themselves may have originated in another room but the light coming from the exterior of the sliding doors may have drawn the termites towards it. The termite pellets indicate where the termite originated – DO NOT REMOVE THE PELLETS.

Be aware that it is natural to see swarming termites outside, its what they do. No need to check this box unless you observe pellets.

Please be advised that we do not spot treat for drywood termites in either furniture or cabinets.

We do not treat cabinets or furniture for termites due to the complexity of the areas typically infested. It is not a matter of reluctance, but rather one of practicality—we simply cannot address these types of infestations effectively with the methods available to us. In most cases, a fumigation or heat treatment is required, services we do not provide. Please contact us at 727-855-7555 for a referral to a specialist who can assist with these treatments.

It’s important to note that cabinets and furniture can already have drywood termites when they are installed in your home or condo. Raw wood can easily become infested with drywood termites while sitting in lumber yards, long before the wood is used by a cabinet maker.

Drywood termite colonies typically take 3 to 5 years to mature. During this time, the queen lays eggs continuously, and the colony grows in size. Workers expand the galleries within the wood, causing damage that may go unnoticed until the infestation becomes more severe. It’s often not until the colony matures that the signs of damage become apparent.

Once the colony is large enough, it may begin producing alates—winged termites that leave the colony to mate and establish new colonies. This swarming process generally occurs 5 to 10 years after the initial infestation, depending on the colony’s development and environmental factors like temperature and humidity.

I give permission for Florida Termite and Pest Control Tech to enter my unit to perform pest control. A duplicate key of your unit is located in the main office. The entry key will be checked out and checked back in when service is complete.
Without permission granted by you, we cannot enter your unit. Please be sure a “working” entry key is available in the office. If your key is “not working” then we cannot service your unit at the present time and you will have to resubmit a work order for the following week or another time.
It is advised to be at your unit during the time we are on property, we always try to get to everybody in a timely manner. BE ADVISED, not all treatments are the same and may take longer than others, Please be patient.
